Paid placements are always labeled

Some companies pay for a Featured placement, a verified listing or a sponsored review. These are always clearly marked as “Sponsored”, “Featured Partner” or “Ad”, and they are shown separately from our editorial rankings. Paid placements do not change the order of our editorial lists.

How paid links are marked

Links from paid placements and affiliate partnerships use the rel="sponsored" attribute, in line with search-engine guidelines. We do not sell editorial links.

Editorial independence

Our rankings are determined by the methodology described on our How we rank page. Advertisers cannot buy a higher editorial position, remove a competitor, or suppress an unfavorable review.
